Using Social Media as a source of Affirmation during a crisis.

The current state of the world has ensued so much anxiety, uncertainty, fear & overwhelming thoughts for everyone.

‘When will our lives get back to normal?’

‘How will our lives be post COVID 19?’

Everyone is looking out for the next update either on social media or broadcast media hoping for a glimpse of hope of better days to come. Currently both brands and consumers have been affected by the pandemic. Some businesses are completely at a halt others have an option to work from home while others are totally overwhelmed as they are key service providers. It’s now more clear than ever that every brand should have digital presence.

Being sales pushy for now really just won't seem ideal, how about consider to be a voice of affirmation through what you post on your Social Media feed. Some key things to take into consideration;
  • What’s your tone of communication? Consider being empathetic & encouraging.
  • Provide a value add for the consumer directly i.e. no transaction fee, online courses free/subsidized cost or indirectly whereby the proceeds are being directed to help the low income earners in the society.
  • Are you offering convenience to the consumer?
  • Communicate in clarity.
  • Add a little humor if you can.

Affirmation is all about being supportive & encouraging and now more than ever that’s what everyone really needs. Years to come a customer will surely look back to these days and remember how a brand made an impact in their lives thus the importance of brands creating lasting relationships with their customers.

Thanks for taking the time to read.  Remember to Stay home & Stay safe.

Social Media Marketing Vs Influencer Marketing.

Every marketing channel a business chooses to grow into is definitely driven by certain objective's; create brand awareness, customer acquisition, customer retention. However to be able to achieve all this there has to be content readily available for your client/customer otherwise how will you keep people on your platforms engaged.   Social Media Marketing is solely built on the content you create and your ability to engage with your existing and potential client(s).  Most reliable channel I would recommend to startups because once you've got content and make posts consistently you are making it easier for people who would be interested in your brand to find you. Put in mind that as you post inlude keywords that a potential client would use to find your product/service.
