Building a brand community.

A brand community comes into existence when there's interaction/conversation with its customer(s)/consumer almost on a daily basis. It grows gradually & consists of different minded people with different interests and likes. Building a community is about being; Consistent & Intentional through those everyday posts that spark conversations, emotions, an urge to want to learn more, an urge to share an experience both good or bad. A community is not a space where you keep pushing products rather is a space that allows your consumers to engage with each other/ you engage with your consumers.
What counts as community for a brand;
1. Social Media through no. of followers, twitter lists, Facebook page/group following.
2. Signups to a newsletter/ email list.
3. Downloads to an e-book/app
4. Subscribing to YouTube channels/ podcasts

Social media has made it easier as the conversations are real-time through avenues such as Twitter/ Instagram polls or feedback requests either on Facebook/ Instagram stories or on the actual feed. Different platforms work differently for brands thus establish one to which you can grow a community, this is entirely based on the platform to which your audience is at. A brand's interaction with its customers should be more than just that moment of sale.

Communities created through Social Media are of advantage because;
1. Act as an assists for marketing strategy through word of mouth. A satisfied customer is likely to recommend a potential customer.
2. It allows your consumers be part of something thus fosters brand advocacy.
3. It provides an avenue for feedback as you interact with your consumers.
4. Serve as support group space on various subjects i.e.  healthy eating, working out, mental health, hair care & skincare.
5. Serve as a space where professional like-minded people share i.e. twitter chats

Based on your interests you can find different communities to be part of on different Social Media platforms. Don’t be a loner you’d be surprised how much your contribution to a community would be helping someone else.
