Google My Business as a Content distribution Channel.

The beginning of content strategy is distinguishing which Social Media platforms will be ideal to reach & interact with your audience. Google provides a platform called Google My Business. Once you set up your page and it’s verified your business will be visible on Google search listing. The following is necessary to set up a page;
  • A brief description about your business.
  • Location in reference to Google Maps.
  • Choose business category.
  • Brand logo.
  • Time schedule.

After verification you can make posts such as;
  1. Product post- it includes a photo/video, product name optional information includes price, additional information.
  2. Update post- it includes a photo/video & description.
  3. Offer Post – it includes a photo/video, offer title, offer duration, optional information includes coupon code, link to redeem, additional offer information.
  4. Event Post – it includes a photo/video, event title, date & time optional information includes additional information.

All posts have an optional button which acts as a call to action. It offers the following option; Call now, Sign up, Learn more, Order online, Book, Buy.

Key importance while making posts is to always include keywords that a potential customer would use to search your business. Once a customer makes a search the following will be visible to them; reviews, photos of the business, call option & direction.

A business being present on GMB is valuable because;
  • The platform provides detailed insights which include; most engaging posts, people who have contacted the business, requested for direction, queries made by customers that resulted into your business being a result on Google Search.
  • High ranking on Google search results & Google maps.
  • The platform provides reviews & ratings given by customer thus making your brand more credible.
